Classic Coastal Blues, Creams, and Greens at Candlewood Lake Inn

Joy is an important quality to carry into your wedding day and, from the beginning Sara and Matt were joyous in their approach to wedding planning and day of energy. Having met as teenagers on Candlewood Lake the couple would later get engaged and married on the same lake where their love story began. Surrounded by an electric group of family and friends their classic coastal blue and white wedding sprang to life through careful attention to detail and intentional planning for more than 18 months.

During the early summer days, Sara and Matt celebrated the next chapter of their love story with an exuberant soiree that reflected their enthusiastic and enduring love for each other.

The morning of the wedding I snuck off to Hotel Zero Degrees in Danbury to greet Sara and her wedding party. The ladies were full of life and their excitement for the day, was buzzing through the air. Handing off Sara’s bouquet was just the beginning of this delightful flower-filled day. From top to bottom, the event was flower-centric, and the design suite is brimming with seasonal delights. Cloud-like peonies, sweet-scented roses, delicate tweedia, and stately delphinium, all of mid-June’s best garden delights, came to shine for the newlyweds.

At the venue, the Three Roots team worked behind the scenes to create an assortment of show-stopping floral moments. Flanking the start of the ceremony were two stone urns overflowing with abundant seasonal greenery and statement blossoms to welcome Sara down the aisle towards Matt. To frame their ceremony, a ground crescent gently hugged the newlyweds set against Candlewood Lake.

Inside the venue an assortment of taper candles in various blue and cream shades were accented by timeless white and blue arrangements featuring some surprise end-season tulips, viburnum, roses, and peonies. With no stone left unturned, the newlyweds sweetheart table was transformed into a sunken garden with a ground crescent to match the ceremony décor. Sara, Matt, their families and friends danced late into the night before jetting off for their next adventure.

Joyous in spirit, kind in their approach, and excited for this new chapter Sara & Matt’s spectacular wedding day is one we will not soon forget.
