Non-Flowery Flowers at Gallaher Mansion in Norwalk, CT
Wedding vendors are not supposed to have favorites…and I do not; however, it will be hard to beat Dani's creative vision and direction for her and Kevin’s fall wedding day. Non-flowery flowers were our guiding directional clause; however, does a florist accomplish a task such as this? In reality, working with locally grown product makes that task quite feasible, provided you know where to look!
The soft rustle of autumn leaves, the golden glow of the late seasonal sun, and the perfect touch of non-flowery flowers brought this angelic and seasonally-minded wedding day to life.
Driven by artistic ambition and seasonal availability, the wedding flower designs were textural, autumnal, abundant, and bespoke…just as the couple requested. The stunning grounds of Gallaher Mansion in Norwalk, CT sprang to life with a buzz of delight and joy as the wedding party arrived. Dani & Kevin, along with their closet friends, all delighted at the floral designs, each exclaiming they were perfect for their day. Amongst a large display of floral delights, their wedding day was gently carried by an autumnal breeze…oh, how we loved this wedding day.
Their day was artfully and lovingly documented by Deirdre Alston.
A Note from the Couple:
When it came to the flowers for our wedding, we really wanted something different and unique that reflected personalities of me and my husband. We wanted the colors and the design to be really special. As I was piecing together the colors and style of our day, I wanted to find a florist I could be collaborative and then we found Shannon. She could not have been more accommodating and patient through the process, respecting our vision and our budget while bringing creative ideas to the table. She even helped us to incorporate flowers into our ceremony book by covering the binding! She really took our vision and turned it into something we could have never imagined. As a creative myself, I understand the pressure of turning someone’s inspiration into a reality, and Shannon’s execution was flawless and so special. The flowers were such a bright highlight of the day, with the compliments flying. The arrangements and decor were simply gorgeous and could not have been more perfect.
About the Designs: Dani & Kevin were clear, their flowers were to be unexpected, seasonal, and artfully composed. Taking these notes I looked to the season to utilize all things non-flowery, but still botanic. Speckled dogwood, that you wouldn’t believe, shimmering lunaria pods, delicate button sized zinnias, and abundant foliage stole the show for this autumnal bounty. Spanning from custom ceremony installations to wedding party bouquets, as well as a hefty about of bud vases, the design suite was perfectly intune with Dani & Kevin’s vision.
